How to Read the Bible Like a Pro

Reading the bible is easier than you think!!

Hey there, Bible Explorer! ✝️🌟

Ever wondered where to start with the Bible? If you're diving into this holy book for the first time—or maybe you've read it a few times but want a fresh perspective—you're in the right place! Whether you’re 13 or 93, reading the Bible can seem a little intimidating at first. But here's the good news: it doesn't have to be. It's a journey that every Christian can take, and trust me, it’s a lot more exciting than it sounds.

🏁 Step 1: Start with the Gospels (Yes, I’m Talking about Matthew, Mark, Luke & John)

Imagine you're jumping into a movie with a twisty plot. You’d want to start with the main characters, right? Well, that’s what the Gospels are: the ultimate introduction to Jesus—the main character of the Bible. 🎬

These four books (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) tell the story of Jesus' life, His teachings, His miracles, His death, and His resurrection. Basically, if you want to know who Jesus is and why He’s so important, these Gospels are the perfect starting point!

Why start here

  • Clarity: The Gospels are straightforward and foundational. They lay the groundwork for everything else in the Bible.

  • Relationship: Jesus is the heart of the Christian faith, and reading about His life helps you grow closer to Him.

  • Action: You’ll get a sense of how Jesus interacted with people—how He healed, taught, forgave, and challenged others.

So, grab your Bible and dive into Matthew or John—whichever one feels right to you. You'll soon be amazed at how rich and life-changing the stories are.

📖 Step 2: What Comes Next?

Once you've made your way through one or more of the Gospels, you're ready to expand your Bible reading to other parts, like Acts (to see how the early Church grew), Psalms (to worship and pour out your heart), and even some of the letters written by Paul to the churches (talk about practical advice for everyday living!).

But no matter where you go in the Bible, remember the Gospels are your foundation. Everything else builds on what Jesus taught and did. 🙌

✨ BONUS TIP: Try the SOAP Bible Study Method! 📜

If you want to get even more out of your Bible reading, let me introduce you to a super helpful method that’s simple and effective: SOAP.

It stands for:

  • S - Scripture: Read a passage. It can be a verse, a chapter, or even just a few lines.

  • O - Observation: What stands out to you? What’s God trying to say here? This is where you make notes on the passage—like “Jesus healed someone with faith!” or “This verse is a reminder to trust God in hard times.”

  • A - Application: How can you apply this to your life? Does it challenge you, encourage you, or teach you something new about your relationship with God?

  • P - Prayer: End your study with a prayer. Ask God to help you live out what you’ve read and to give you understanding.

This simple method is perfect for teens, adults, or anyone who wants to take their Bible study to the next level. Trust me, it’ll turn Bible reading from a chore into something you look forward to!
